I love LittlePixel’s Flickr set of what he describes as “Classic records lost in time and format, re-emerged as Pelican books.” If only such a thing existed. They are all quite gorgeous, and I’ve posted some of my favourites below. You can also discover more lovely little things at http://www.littlepixel.info.

Last month, we had touched on vintage cassette tape inserts and how awesome the designs are. Perhaps it’s the nostalgia of growing up in the era of analog sounds, or that everything old is back in fashion, but the aesthetic of cassette tapes still have profound desire and influence in modern society. This post pays homage to the cassette tape, and the unique ways that we’ve tried to preserve it by bridging the gap between digital and analog. Here are some of my favorite mods and hybrids:

Let’s face it, here at Nueva Forma, we’re suckers for vintage design. Polar Alert Studios has compiled a wonderful collection of the top 100 vintage cassette tape inserts, and after going through the slideshow, I’m feeling a bit nostagic and am compelled to make a mixtape the next time I get my hands on a cassette. Unfortunately, most cassette tapes don’t look as cool as they used to. There’s also a wonderful Flickr set of cassette inserts via Jubru’s photostream, which is where the images are from.
